City of Johannesburg Service delivery programmes will come under spotlight in Orange Farm on Thursday at the joint sitting of African National Congress (ANC) Caucuses of the Gauteng Legislature and City of Johannesburg.

Provincial Chief Whip Brian Hlongwa will brief members of the Media on challenges facing residents in Gauteng. Amongst others, he will address the issues of housing backlogs in Orange Farm, infrastructure development and contractor`s inability to deliver and other issues at the heart of protest Gauteng.

This briefing is a product of the findings of Caucus on its month long "community outreach programme" which started on the 11th of September 2013 in Randfontein. Throughout this process, causes has had meetings with members of the public and has made commitment of key projects that Caucus will follow up with government on behalf of the people of Gauteng.

Senior ANC leaders including several members of the Provincial Executive Committee, Regional Executive Committee and Members of the Executive at both levels of government are expected to join Caucus when visiting the development projects in the area and as they meet residents in the Door-Door Campaign. The team will then meet members of the community at a public meeting at Chris Hani Stadium from 4pm in the afternoon. About 3000 people are expected to attend the public meeting.
