Gauteng Caucus Mourns

MEC Nkosiphendule KolisileAfrican National Congress (ANC) Members of the Provincial Legislature are still reeling from the shock and sadness at the passing of the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) Nkosiphendule Kolisile responsible for Economic Development earlier last Saturday July 20th 2013.

Kolisile, was a victim of fatal vehicle accident outside Bloemfontien in the Free State whilst travelling with two of his bodyguards en-route to the Eastern Cape for a bereavement. He is survived by his wife Nosakhe and three children, son Skhumbuzo and daughters Nomakhithi and Ntombi.

Shocked Caucus chief Whip Brain Hlongwa said he and the entire Caucus collective were saddened and stunned by Kolisile`s sudden death.

"Death the coward should not be proud of having robbed the people of Gauteng one of their finest sons. Comrade Nkosiphendula was one of the star performers of this Caucus and we were expecting much more to come from him," said Hlongwa.

Kolisile served as Convener of ANC Caucus Economic Transformation Cluster from April 2009, and later became chairperson of GPL Economic Development Committee and was later appointed MEC of Economic Development late in 2012.

The family of MEC Nkosiphendule Kolisile in conjunction with the Provincial Funeral Committee announced details of the memorial service and funeral arrangements as follows:

MEC for Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Lebogang Maile - representing Gauteng Provincial Government announced that a joint memorial service will be held to celebrate the lives of MEC Kolisile, his driver and protector.
